Our Helleborus niger ‘HGC Jacob’ are blooming nicely. Known as the Christmas Rose they start blooming in November and depending on the weather can continue blooming through December and into spring. The niger species are not necessarily hardy in our area but this cultivar is supposedly hardy to zone 4. I have planted seven in our display gardens so we shall see. They make great Thanksgiving decorations.
